Recently, Observer published an interesting article featuring ArbiClaims as a disruptive force in legal tech and focuses on our aim to remove bias in the legal process.
During the first few months after our launch, we had a feature that allowed customers to select their arbitrator. We sought to empower individuals to have a say in determining which arbitrators, and their corresponding educational and professional experiences, they felt a connection to and wanted to hear their case. While our intentions were good, we noticed that some customers declined arbitrators based solely on their ethnic backgrounds.
Observer interviewed CEO Stephen Kane to understand how ArbiClaims adjusted its process to remove racial bias. In this wonderful article, Stephen discusses his thoughts on how legal tech can address other issues relating to race.
